My Holiday Missal
I thought that I would start and finish my holiday missal with one of my favorite limericks.
Memorizing and writing limericks has been a hobby of mine for over sixty years. If you are not familiar with limerick style, it follows this style: The first two lines must rhyme, the second two lines rhyme with each other, and the fifth line rhymes with the first two lines.
This got me thinking about the Holiday Season coming up. We all like to read about the Grinch and old Ebeneezer Scrooge, however, I don’t see many people acting like them during these happy days. Most of us are in good, better, or best moods. Cheerful customers are the norm.
In my over sixty-five years in the retail business, I have had to deal with zero Grinches or Scrooges. During the holidays, people in general really get the spirit. How about you?

This limerick is one of my favorites that I have written:
There was a young fellow named Newt
Who thought that his limericks were cute;
But when he grew old
And not one had been sold,
He decided they weren’t worth a hoot!
