A Long Time Ago, in a Galaxy Far Far Away ...
Back when I was in high school I decided that I wanted to be a coat buyer for a large major department store. As a Senior at Montclair High School I registered in the schools very first merchandising class. My final project for this class was on women's coats and I received the best grade in the entire class. Since I wasn't normally an "A" student, I decided I had found my nitch.

My further education and career choices went in many different directions until 1990 when I found myself at the San Francisco Market buying merchandise for Crystal's. Panic set in as I worked with the first manufacturers sales rep and I asked myself, "Do you really know how to do this?" Well, apparently I did as we have been open for sixteen years here in Placerville. My second thought was: Dreams really do come true --- sometimes they just take thirty-some years!

Now when I go to market I consider it "pre-shopping" for my customers. I try to choose items that are contemporary, stylish, well made items at moderate prices.
